Taters threaten in the bottom of the 7th with a double from RJ Grant and a homer from Paul Grant, but 2 is not enough. Yard Ducks upset Mashed Taters, 16-10.
Game 2: 2nd seed Cheaters vs 3rd seed Mayhem
Mayhem scores 5 in 4 innings. Steven Sovocol, Casey Condron, and Randy Worthing all double. Derek Strowhouer homers. On the other side of the page, Cheaters can only plate 2 in the same innings. Needing 10 to tie and 11 to win, Cheaters can only plate 3 in the bottom of the 7th, all on Jason Exner's 3-run blast over the fence. Mayhem wins and goes on to the Championship next week, 12-5.
Game 3: top see Disciples vs 5th seed Yard Ducks
Yard Ducks plate just 5 runs in this game, but might that be enough? Tom Gallagher doubles twice, Paul Brazil doubles, Jason Crumback homers for Yard Ducks. Disciples start out slow and don't score until the 3rd, where they put up 5. Richie Fluck and Darren Hughes both double. They'll add 1 more in the 4th on Brad Shuck's solo dinger to take the lead. Darren Hughes homers in the 5th for an insurance run, and this game is over with a Disciples win and a spot in the Championship game next week, 7-5.
