Game #1 – The Maize vs. Dominick’s Pub

The Maize will come out firing with a two run first inning thanks to an Aaron Worthington two run bomb deep into the trees at Hatfield. Maize would play perfect defense and shut down Doms in the bottom of the inning. Both teams play flawless defense in the second as neither team can push any runs across. The same can be said about the third inning. We get back to some runs in the fourth inning as Wil Marsdel and Troy Klauder knock in a run on RBI singles while Matt Bugemilligan knocks in two on a single. The fifth will bring two more runs for Maize as they get a Tom Egitto RBI single and Austin Grasso RBI double. That is all they would need in this one as Dominick’s can only manage five hits and won’t push any across. Maize will move on and win 9-0.

Game #2 – The Sillies vs. Carroll’s Jewelers

Sillies will get rolling with a two run single from Andy Yurkanin to give them the early 2-0 lead. This was short lived as Carroll’s come out red hot, scoring ten runs while batting around. Kyle Gallagher started it with a two run double, followed by a Greg Lesher RBI double. Ali Theis later in the inning will bring in two runs on a single, before Kelly Gallagher clears the bases with her own double. Back to back singles from John Zeits and Sarah Yoos round out the inning as they lead. Carroll’s will tack on in the second getting four more runs. The big shot was a two run bomb off the bat of Brian Sauers. Sillies will show some fight with a three run bomb off the bat of Kris Karaba, but another two run bomb gives Carroll’s a 16-5 lead. Carroll’s will add five more in the sixth as they will close this game out easily. Carroll’s will move on with a 21-6 win.
