Game #1 – The Runs vs. Poco’s


The Runs get rolling with a three run bomb off the bat of Erik Cusano as they take a 3-0 lead early. Popo’s grab a leadoff walk from Bill Stone, but then can’t push him across. Defense rules the next inning as neither team can score a run. Poco’s will get on the board in the second inning with back to back RBI singles from Jeff Hess and Tony Cabat. Clay McIntosh will knock in another run for Runs with an RBI double as they lead 4-2. Poco’s will get within a run on a Bill Stone RBI single, bringing this game to within a run, but then explode in the sixth. They erupt for seven total runs as they get on top. Stone had an RBI single, Bill Hamil had a two run single and Cabat had a bases loaded triple as they take a 10-5 lead. That is where this one would end as Poco’s will steal this late. Poco’s win 10-5.

Game #2 – Wackers vs. Knuckleheads

Wackers will come out with a five run inning in the first, getting a RBI double from Mark Cooper, RBI single from Bill Shallcross and RBI fielder’s choice from Chase Luxton. Knuckleheads will get three runs back in the bottom of the inning with and RBI single from Jon Poore, sac fly from John Kiefer and RBI double from Pierre Girin. Wackers like the number five and will get five more runs in the second. Jay Pane smashed a grand slam and Bill Brancato had a solo bomb. Knuckleheads will again respond with three runs. Mike Cebzanov and Rich Zupkuksy knock in runs on back-to-back singles. Wackers will continue to stay red hot at the plate the next two innings putting up a total of 12 runs while Knuckleheads put up some goose eggs. Dan Vescovi had two 2 run singles, Mary Kate Smith and Bill Brancato had RBI doubles and Lissa Tercha had an RBI single. Molly Rice also had an RBI single. Wackers will end this one in the next inning with an RBI single from Mark Cooper. Wackers win 24-9.

Game #3 – Mott-Ley Crew vs. Altek

Crew will get off to a hot start in our game of the night, putting up seven runs through two innings. Kevin Cwikla, Scott Flaherty and Brittany Lautenslager all net runs on RBI singles. Tony Luizza knocked in a run on a sac fly in the second inning. Crew will get a run in the third on a Greg Reilly RBI single, but Altek answer back with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Crew start to wake up in the fourth and fifth innings getting three and six runs respectively. Ian Kacergis had two RBI doubles, while Carl Motts delivered the big shot with a three run bomb. Jon Motts also added an RBI double. Altek will get five runs back in the bottom of the fifth. Kevin Cwikla clears the bases with a double after Ryan Hensman draws a bases loaded walk. We head to the seventh, with Altek leading 18-11. Crew will start the inning off with an RBI triple from Kacergis and RBI single from Jonathan Duchette. Justin Ruth and Greg Reielly then go back to back with RBI singles, before Jon Motts smashes a two run double. The inning will round out with a Kacgeris RBI triple and Duchette RBI double. In total they score 12 and take a 23-18 lead. Altek are shell shocked and can’t get anything going in the bottom of the inning as Crew will take this one. Crew win 23-18.

Game #4 – Mean Machine vs. Garges Gang

Mean Machine will go down in the top half of the first inning to kick this game off, followed by a five run outburst by Garges Gang in the bottom of the inning. Austin Grasso and Aaron Worthington both have two run bombs while Keith Bellinger knocks in a run on a single. Both teams won’t score in the second and third inning. Mean Machine will get on the board in the fourth on RBI singles from Amy Potts and Scott Gerhert. The next action will be from a Potts fielder’s choice, making this a 5-3 game in favor of Garges Gang. Defense would shut this game down as neither team would work for the rest of the game. Garges game win 5-3.
