Game #1 – Knuckleheads vs. Muckdogs


Knuckleheads come out firing grabbing six runs right out of the gate. Jose Rodriguez gets the scoring started for them with a two run double, followed by an RBI double from Pierre Girin. Jim Bell will knock in two runs on a single as well. Muckdogs will get two runs back in the bottom half of the inning on a bases loaded walk from Chelsea Detweiler and then a sac fly from Bill Hamill. An error lead to two more runs as they trail 6-4. Knuckleheads will get right back to it in the second with five more runs. Wayne Horger, John Schofield and Bell all knock in runs on singles and Rodriguez knocks in another run on a double. Muckdogs stay silent in the second and third, but Knuckleheads keep it rolling with nine more runs across the third and fourth. John Kiefer knocked in two runs on a single and Bell knocked in two more runs on a double. Muckdogs will grab four runs late, but will fall in this one as Knuckleheads are too much. Knuckleheads win 20-10.

Game #2 – Dominick Pizza vs. Phanatic Batman

Batman will strike first with a sac fly from Scott Gerhart as they take an early 1-0 lead. Dominicks will tie this game up in the second on a fielder’s choice from Janice Tansits. Batman will take the lead again in the third grabbing two runs on an error beofre we head to the fourth. The fourth was a big inning for both teams. Zac Talmadge starts the scoring with an RBI double, followed by an RBI single from Eric Rosenblum. Ray Barry and Tansits add runs on RBI singles later in the inning and the scoring is closed out on a Dan Muldoon two run double. Batman also put up seven runs in the fourth paced by a Paul O’Connor two run single. Gerhart will add an RBI double and Larry Kirschner adds one more on a single of his own. Dom’s get a big shot in the fifth from a Ed Reynolds three run bomb as they take a three-run lead. Dominicks will add some insurance runs late on a Stefano Giuliani two run homer as they come through late and win this. Dominick win 17-10.

Game #3 – Dirty Balls vs.Wehrung Lumber


Wehrung’s will grab the lead first with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Doug Moninghoff knocks in a run on a double and they grab one more on an error. Dirty Balls get two back in the second on a Harrison Leal RBI single and Andrea Romuno sac fly. Wehrung will take that lead right back in the second as they get four more runs on a solo bomb from Daniel Muth and RBI singles from Asa Cooper and Lauren Wood. Dirty Balls fight back again, getting three runs in the third and getting back to within one. Nick Pigott and Tim Frei had back to back triples in the inning. We jump ahead to the fifth where Dirty Balls explode for eight runs. Bob Stanley knocks in a run on a double, while Jenn Sevitski and Alex R bring in runs on singles. The shots were delivered from Pigott and Frei who had a bases clearing triple and solo homer respectfully. Dirty Balls get right back to it with seven more runs in the sixth. Tim Frei was back at it again with another homer, this time a three run shot. Dennis D’Angelo brings in two with a triple as well. Wehrung will get back eight runs in the bottom of the inning, but it will be too late to stay in this game. Daniel Muth smashes another homer, this time a two run shot and Moninghoff knocks in two more on a a triple in the losing effort. Dirty Balls win 23-16.

Game #4 – GFP vs. The Maize

The last game of the night was over in an instant. This game would only go four innings, and Maize would only be able to muster up one run in this one on a Gary Kleinschmidt RBI single. GFP was hitting on all cylinders in this one as their bats were red hot and their defense was outstanding. Nonny glove was glowing in this one. Nonny went four for four with a two singles, a double and a homer with four RBI’s, while Eric Schade went 2/4 with two triples and four RBIs. Mark Cooper led the way for GFP going four for four with a single double, triple and a homer and a whopping seven RBI’s. The rest of the team got involved in this one with everyone having at least one hit in this one. GFP wins 23-1.
