Game #1 – Dominicks vs. The Runs
The Runs will get on top first in this one with a sac fly from Erik Cusano and RBI single from Kyle Exner. Dominicks will get on the board in the second grabbing three runs and a one run lead. Emily Kline and Jack Milto knock in runs on singles and Katie Muldoon knocks in a run on a fielder’s choice. Dominick’s will add one more with an RBI single from Ed Reynolds making this a 4-2 game. Runs will tie this game up in the third as they net a run on an error and an Exner RBI single as we are tied after three innings. Dominick’s will take a brief lead on a big sac fly, from Milto, but that is shorted lived as Runs have a big fifth inning. Matt Kovaleski knocks in a run on a single, while Rebecca Brennan delivers two runs on a triple. By the end of the inning, Runs lead 9-6. Runs will take an even bigger lead in the sixth as they bat around and push across eight runs. Amy Balash will knock in two runs on a single, while Bobby Ridenour knocks in two on a double. Erik Cusano delivers the big blow smashing a two run bomb deep into the quarry woods. Dominick’s won’t go quietly thought as they have a big seventh inning. RBI singles from Janice Tansits, Paul Hensler and Bob Kolecki start the scoring and Joe Perry clears the bases with a double to keep the rally going. Zac Talmadge will smash a two run homer to bring them to within two runs, but that is where the game would end, with Runs just holding on. Runs win 17-15.

Game #2 – Altek vs. Knuckleheads
Altek gets the scoring started with a Kyle Smith RBI triple, which is then followed up by a sac fly from Brian Dart. Brandon Smith and Kevin Cwikla outdo Dart by muscling up and smashing solo homers to make this a 4-0 game. Knuckleheads will get one run back on a Jose Rodriguez RBI double. Knuckleheads will come back in defensively in the second and then bring in three more in the bottom of the inning to tie this game up. Wayne Horger nets a run on a double and Pierre Girin brings in two on a triple. Altek go back up in the third, when Brandon Smith smashes a two run bomb, his second of the night so far to make it a 6-4 game. Altek will add one more in the fourth to increase their lead, but Knuckleheads come back in the bottom of the inning with five runs to take the lead. Jim Bell, with a big return, knocks in two runs on a double, while Girin strikes again for two more runs with another triple. Smith will strike again in the fifth, with his third homer of the game, this time a three run bomb as they will tie this game up with two innings to go. Knuckleheads will grab a lead in the sixth with a Bell two run triple and Gary Thompson RBI single as we head to the seventh and last inning. Dart will get a run back for Altek with a sac fly and Smith will go yard again, for the fourth time today, but they will fall short and lose by a couple. Knuckleheads win 14-12.

Game #3 – Wehrung vs. The Maize
This game will start off slow with a Doug Moninghoff solo homer as this is the only run scored for the first three innings. We will pick up again in the third with Wehrung’s grabbing two more runs. The Maize will answer in the bottom of the inning and take the lead for the first time today. Matt Burgenhagen nets two runs on a single and Austin Grasso nets a run on a single. Aaron Worthington also hits an RBI double to make this a 4-3 game. Maize will increase their lead in the fifth, with three more runs. Worthington and Grasso both net a run on back to back triples. Wehrung’s will get the bats going again and tie this game up in the sixth as they get into the triples game as well. Hendricks scores two on a triple while Adam Hendricks and Daniel Muth bring in a run on a single. This is where we heat up as both teams will put up a whooping seven runs apiece in the seventh. Wehrung’s are highlighted by a three run bomb from Moninghoff and a two run bomb from Daniel Muth. Maize are highlighted by a two-run triple from Worthington and RBI triple from Grasso. Wehrung’s will keep the hot bats going in the eighth, getting five more runs on some singles and errors and that will be enough to outlast Maize in extra innings. Wehrung’s wins 19-15.

Doug Moninghoff (Wehrung) – 3/5, 3B, 2 HR’s, 5 RBI’s
Game #4 – GFP vs. Quality Lumber
GFP get rolling fast in this one as they bat around and put up 12 runs right out of the gate. Tess Frelick starts the scoring with a two run triple,, followed by RBI singles from Bill Brancato, Sean Nonnnnynnynnymacher, Alex Freeman and then Brancato for the second time. Tess adds two more RBI’s in the inning with another single. A two run double from Adam Lightkep makes this a 15-0 game after two innings. Things slow down, but GFP and Quality will both grab a couple runs and stay fairly quiet until we get to the sixth. Quality start to show some life as they push across eight runs late. Mark K smashes a three run bomb, while Dan McCusker will add two runs on a double. This is too late though as GFP continue there hitting late, adding seven more. Singles pace the scoring as they cruise to a win. GFP wins 24-11.
