A slight scheduling error on my part resulted in some minor time changes in the latter part of the schedule.

The Sunday Men's schedule has been revised to accommodate the postponements at Stover Park this past Sunday. This revision will allow us to avoid extending the season another week or playing games on a Saturday. In addition, with the no-show league fee collector at Carpenter, the revision allows for a league fee collector to be available this coming week. Your team’s game may have been moved around on the schedule to make room for the 4 games we lost at Stover even though your game wasn’t involved in any postponement. Please understand, I would do the same for you and your team if the shoe was on the other foot.

Please make sure your teammates are informed of the schedule changes. Also make sure you have the most recent copy in your browser. If the old schedule comes up, clear the cache on your phone or computer.

The changes for this coming week (April 13th) are listed below. There are other changes, but I wanted to list the ones for this week as it is on such short notice.

A Division: No changes
B North: 7-13 moves from 1 pm Lukens 1 to 11:30 Carpenter Park, 8-14 moves from 11:45 Lukens 1 to 12:45 Stover.
B East: No changes
B West: 23-29 (from 4/6) moves to 11:45 Lukens 1, 28-29 moves from 11:30 Carpenter to 1 pm Lukens 1
B South: No changes

My goal is to stay away from Saturday make-ups, but the past rainout at Lukens 1 made it logistically unavoidable. I tried moving the A Division games and opening up the Quarry on May 18th, but it forced double, triple and quadruple headers where teams are forced to travel to different fields and be forced to wait a time slot or 2 to play. Not logistically feasible.

The B West games from April 13th (25-30, 23-25, 23-29, 28-29) have been rescheduled in accordance with scheduling guide lines for Saturday, April 26th at the Quarry ball field in Warrington. First game: 9:00 am. A revised schedule has been posted online.

I realize this may be a hardship for some and I wish there was a viable alternative. When excessive rainouts rear their ugly head, Saturday make-ups become a necessary evil. Without them, the schedule gets out of hand and places the fall season in jeopardy of not having enough weeks to complete the season.

I don’t know what the B West Division did to deserve so many rainouts, but it seems the B West is getting picked on by Mother Nature. In order to avoid adding another Saturday make-up, teams 24 and 27 have each agree to play a traveling triple header. In order to make that happen, some B East and B West games were moved around a little on May 11th and May 18th.
