Game 1:
Philly Junk starts off the series with a 4 run 1st inning, highlighted by a Jason Ashworth 3-run homer. Meanwhile, Wire2Wire get just a couple of baserunners in the 1st 3 innings. Philly Junk adds 2 in the 3rd when Brandon Birkhead goes deep. They'll add 5 more in the 4th to make it an 11-0 game. Ashworth homers again, and collects a double in the 6th. Birky also homers again. In the bottom of the 4th, Wire2Wire gets on the board with 2 runs to make it an 11-2 game, and that's how it ends. Philly Junk takes game 1, 11-2.
Game 2:
Wire2Wire goes down in order in the 1st, while Philly Junk plates 3 after Ashworth triples and Pat Kelley homers. Wire2Wire get on the board in the 2nd with a Jake McDevitt double. They'll add 8 in the 3rd with Philly Junk going quiet in the 2nd and 3rd. Joe DiMezza and Brian Dart both homer, and Sean "Preppie" Butrica doubles. Wire2Wire now leads 9-2. Philly Junk tighten the game up a little bit in the bottom of the 4th when Shane Hanna doubles and they end up scoring 3 in the inning. Wire2Wire get 2 more in the 5th after DiMezza, Brandon Bozek, and Dart go back-to-back-to-back with doubles. They'll get 2 more in the top of the 6th to take a 13-5 lead. For Philly Junk, Hanna, Ashworth, Kelley, and Birky go back-to-back-to-back-to-back with homers over the fence in the bottom of the 6th. That must have been a sight! Wire2Wire's lead is now cut down to 4, at 13-9 going into the top of the 7th. They get 2 insurance runs, and, needing 6 to tie and 7 to win, Philly Junk falls short in the bottom of the 7th and scores just 2 on Ashworth's 2-run triple. Wire2Wire takes game 2, 15-11. On to the RUBBER MATCH!
Game 3:
Philly Junk gets doubles from the top 3 batters, Tom Ivers, Hanna, and Ashworth to score 3 in the 1st. Wire2Wire match that with a Brian Dart homer, and we're all tied up after 1. Wire2Wire adds 3 more in the 2nd after Philly Junk scores none. Dart doubles. Philly Junk ties it up in the top of the 3rd after Ashworth doubles and Kelley and Birky both homer. They'll take the lead with 2 more runs in the 4th with an Ivers double and a KC Ingram homer. Wire2Wire make it a 1 run game in the bottom of the 4th after Brett Anker triples and scores. Philly Junk get one in the 5th after Kelley triples and scores. It's 9-7 after 5, favor of Philly Junk. In the 6th, Philly Junk widens their lead to 6 by scoring 4 on a slew of singles and a sac fly from Tom Rider. They'll add 7 more in the top of the 7th, with Hanna and Mike Bitterlich both homering, and Tyler Gower doubling. Needing 13 to tie and 14 to win, Wire2Wire get a double from Preppie (Butrica), and score just 1 run. Philly Junk takes game 3 20-8, and the Tuesday Men's Spring Championship!
