Game #1 – Poco’s vs. The Maize



Poco’s get this night started with a two run double from Ryan Hamilton to give them a 2-0 lead. The Maize get three runs back and take the lead in the bottom of the inning with a Gary Kleinschmidt two run single and Wil Das RBI double. Poco’s tie the game up in the second inning with a run of their own. Both teams will grab a run in the third inning, before Eric Shade knocks in a run on a single. Tom Egitto matches that in the bottom of the inning with an RBI double. We will have the first big swing of the inning, with five runs going to Poco’s along the fourth and fifth inning. Kris Eve smashes two runs with a home run and Anker, Cabot and Schade all have RBI singles. Poco’s will grab another five runs towards the end of the game, which sends us to the bottom of the seventh with Pocos leading 14-6. Maize will put together a big inning in the seventh. Matt Bagenhagen and Wil Marsden have RBI singles, while Aaron Worthington has the big shot with a three run bomb. Maize will fall just short in this one as Poco’s hold on. Poco’s win 14-12.

Game #2 – Wehrung’s vs. Carroll’s


Carroll’s get rolling out of the gate with a run on a Bill Shipe RBI double. Wehrung’s get three runs back in the second inning on a RBI single from Lowell Snyder and two run single from Wyatt Schilling. Carroll’s will tie the game up in the bottom of the inning getting two runs on back to back sac flys from Lauren Klepchick and Steve DiGiovanni. Wehrung’s will have a big inning in the third and grab five total runs. Adam Hendricks knock two runs in on a single and Luke Hendricks smashes a two run bomb. Carroll’s will match the five runs in the bottom half of the inning. Hallie Bilker and Kelly Gallagher have sac flies and Bob McClintock knocked in two on a triple. Wehrung’s will grab the lead again in the fourth with a Bobby Snyder two run double and JIllian Moninghoff RBI single. Carroll’s will grab a run in the bottom of the inning as both teams continue to hit well. A Luke Hendricks homer and Schilling two run double makes this a 14-9 game. Carroll’s will put up six runs and take the lead in the sixth thanks to a Mike Stacey grand slam and Greg Lesher solo bomb. Wehrung’s will again take the lead with two runs and then more importantly shuts it down defensively to take the win. Wehrung’s win 16-15.

Game #3 – The Runs vs. Mean Machine


Last game of the night gets started with the Runs grabbing a run on an error. Mean Machine responds with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Scott Gerhart had a sac fly and Amy Potts had an RBI single. Mean Machine will have a big inning in the third, grabbing five runs. Ron Ducko had an RBI triple, while Amy Potts, Gerhart and Mara Cullman had RBI singles. Runs will respond with three runs across the third and fourth inning. Bobby Ridenour had a two run bomb and Matt Dolan had an RBI single. Machine keep hitting and grab two runs on a single from Gerhart and error. Machine will add four more runs late on a Mara Cullman single and Jeff Chung RBI single. Runs will put up a late fight, with a two run bomb from Erik Cusano and Amy Balash RBI single, but will fall. Mean Machine win 13-9.
