Game 1: Doc’s Irish Pub vs Dark Horse

Dark Horse took advantage of two lead off walks in the top of the first and were able to score three runs off RBI singles by Nick Mariana and Shawn Dunn to take an early 3-0 lead. Doc’s got one run back in the bottom of the 1st on an RBI triple by Dylan Brooks to give Dark Horse a 3-1 lead after one. Dark Horse put up four more runs in the top of the 2nd on two RBI triples by Paul Ferruzzi and Mariani to give them a big lead early. The Doc’s offense struggled in the bottom of the 2nd and 3rd as they were not able to cut their deficit. Dark Horse went scoreless in the third inning as well. In the fourth inning Dark Horse went scoreless in the inning again which opened the door for Doc’s to try and get back in the game. Doc’s was able to push across one run in the bottom of the 4th on an RBI single by Austin Kooker to bring the score to 7-2 after the fourth. Unfortunately for Doc’s, they would not be able to score the rest of the game. Nick Mariana hit a solo homerun in the top of the 5th and Dunn added another RBI single in the top of the 7th as Dark Horse cruises past Doc’s 9-2.

Game 2: Backyard Bombers vs One Hit Wonders

One Hit Wonders came out swinging early in the top of the 1st scoring six runs on RBI singles by Dan Cripps, Bill Groff and Mike Trivino as well as an RBI triple by Jack Stepnowski to start a huge hitting day for One Hit Wonders. Backyard Bombers on the other hand would not have their day at the plate going scoreless in the first three innings. One Hit Wonders exploded in the top of the 2nd inning scoring 19 runs on RBI singles by Cripps, Andy Springer, Rob Gisondi, Stepnowski and Jared Owens, RBI triple by Trivino as well as a grand slam by Springer to give One Hit Wonders a 25-0 after the 2nd. They would add five more runs in the top of the 3rd on RBI singles by Springer, Gisondi, Groff, Trivino and Stepnowski to push the lead to 30-0. Backyard Bombers needed a bunch to keep the game going in the bottom of the 4th.RBI singles by Ian Hauser and Jack Jankowski helped along with an RBI double by Nick Pello and an RBI sac fly by Jake Boehm, but they would fall short of the runs needed to extend the game. One Hit Wonders has a day at the plate as they defeat Backyard Bombers 30-4.

Game 3: Pitches Be Trippin vs One Hit Wonders

One Hit Wonders was looking to continue their hot hitting into their second game of the day. In the top of the 1st they were able to score two runs off an RBI single from Rob Gisondi and an RBI sac fly by Jimmy Cooker. The bats started off slow for Pitches Be Trippin as they could not score any runs in the first two innings. One Hit Wonders’ bats cooled off in the 2nd and 3rd as they could not plate any runs across. Pitches Be Trippin woke up the bats in the bottom of the 3rd and took the lead scoring three runs on an RBI single by Dan Kalonoski, RBI fielder’s choice by Matt Horn and an RBI double by Bobby Scholley as they led 3-2 after the third. One Hit Wonders reignited their offense in the top of the 4th scoring five runs on a two-run RBI single by Mike Harrington, RBI sac fly by Jesse Grasso and a two-run RBI triple by Cooker to retake the lead 7-3. Pitches Be Trippin got one run back in the bottom of the 4th on an RBI single by Matthew Sheehan to give One Hit Wonders a 7-4 lead after the fourth. A two-run RBI single by Mike Trivino in the top of the 5th and an RBI sac fly by Tom O’Neil extended the lead to 10-4 after the fifth for One Hit Wonders as Pitches Be Trippin went scoreless in the bottom of the 5th. Dan Cripps hit an RBI single in the top of the 6th to give One Hit Wonders a comfortable lead. That did not last long as Pitches Be Trippin scored five runs in the bottom of the 6th on a two-run RBI double by Kevin Launair, a two-run RBI triple by Paul Campbell and an RBI fielder’s choice by Tim Graf to cut One Hit Wonders’ lead to 11-9 entering the final inning. One Hit Wonders scored three insurance runs in the top of the 7th inning on RBI singles by Grasso and Trivino and an RBI sac fly by Harrington to give them a 14-9 lead over Pitches Be Trippin heading into the bottom of the 7th. Scholley had a two-run RBI triple for Pitches Be Trippin to start the comeback in the bottom of the 7th. Anthony Perritti would score him on an RBI sac fly to cut it to two runs, but One Hit Wonders was able to escape and stop the damage. One Hit Wonders hangs on defeating Pitches Be Trippin 14-12.

Game 4: Wire 2 Wire vs Pitch Please

The bats came out hot for Pitch Please in the top of the 1st as they scored 5 runs on RBI singles by Pete Donnelly and Dan Altemus and an RBI double by Mike Sheridan to take an early lead. Wire 2 Wire on the other hand struggled at the plate going scoreless in the first two innings. Pitch Please would go quiet their next at bats keeping the score at 5-0 after the top of the 3rd. In the bottom of the 3rd Wire 2 Wire would get the offense going scoring two on an RBI double by Tom Signore to cut into Pitch Please’s lead. Pitch Please would score two more runs in the top of the 4th on an RBI sac fly by Joe Weeks and an RBI double by Joe Kindt to extend the lead to 7-2 after the fourth. Another RBI sac fly, this time by Altemus increased the lead in the top of the 5th for Pitch Please. Wire 2 Wire would answer right back with a run of their own in the bottom of the 5th to make the score 8-3 going into the sixth. Pitch Please would add three more insurance runs in the last two innings, two of those runs coming from an RBI single by Adam Schlang. Wire 2 Wire would fail to score in the last two innings and Pitch Please easily takes down Wire 2 Wire 11-3.

Game 5: Purple Cobras vs The Swingers

The Swingers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as they scored two runs in the top of the 1st on an RBI single by Brian Close and an RBI fielder’s choice by Ben Razzi. Purple Cobras would answer right back with two of their own in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI sac fly by Steve Gardner and an RBI double by Mike Corrigan to knot the score at 2 after one. The Swingers would regain the lead in the top of the 2nd scoring five runs on an RBI sac fly by Dion Greene, and RBI singles by Matt Close, Brian Close and Chris Clewell. Purple Cobras would go down in order in the bottom of the 2nd as The Swingers held a 7-2 lead. The Swingers would add two more runs in the top of the 3rd on RBI singles by Brian Hoover and Dave Pohle to give them a big 9-2 lead. Purple Cobras would storm back scoring four runs in the bottom of the 3rd on an RBI sac fly by Ty Allen, an RBI double by Gardner, an RBI single by Brandon Roman and an RBI double by Corrigan to cut The Swingers’ lead to 7-6 going into the fourth. The Swingers would go down in order in the top of the 4th. Purple Cobras would have another big inning in the bottom of the 4th scoring six runs on an RBI single by Tito Roman, RBI triple by Dan Roman, RBI triple by Allen, RBI triple by Gardner and an RBI sac fly by Brandon Roman to give Purple Cobras a 12-9 lead after the fourth. This would prove to be the deciding inning in the game as neither team scored the rest of the way. Purple Cobras’ two big offensive innings power past The Swingers 12-9.
