Post by BamBam08 »

This is an obituary for Sean that his sister Danielle wrote.

Sean Patrick O’Connor
1/24/1997-07/04/2026
Sean Patrick O’Connor, 29, was getting out of his comfort zone, seeking adventure and enjoying himself on July 4th 2026, when he tragically passed away after an accident.
Sean spent the beginning part of his childhood in Warminster, PA, where you could always find him entertaining the neighbors. He was often the team lead, and kept the law and order of any game you wanted to play including kickball, wallball, and most importantly wiffle ball.
After moving to Willow Grove, PA, he graduated from Upper Moreland high school in 2016. He played as much baseball as homework allowed and he was still one of the smartest people you knew. He played intermural ball at local little league fields and played on Upper Moreland’s high school team. After graduation, he attended Penn State Abington where he played college baseball and graduated with a BS in rehabilitation and human services. He began a career in the drug and alcohol rehabilitation community, with the ultimate goal of becoming a drug and alcohol counselor. As a tech, he was fearless, not even letting thrown flowerpots in his presence deter him. In fact, it motivated him to want to do more to help others “Dew better!” He decided to pursue getting master’s degree at Walden University to become a drug and alcohol counselor. His “why” was simple: To get people out of the dark and help carry them through their battle with addictions. There is no doubt he inherited a level of genuine empathy that only a special person could be blessed with. And boy, was Sean special!
If you knew Sean, you knew he was always down to clown. He always had a contagious smile on his face that was often followed by an infectious laugh and an animated facial expression. He was very expressive, and I’m sure as a person in his life you are thinking of one of his expressions as you read this. He was a goofball with a nostalgic heart that longed for Dunkaroos, backyard baseball, and an occasional game session of Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. He was the most genuine person you’d ever meet who would do anything for anybody and was always determined to make you smile. He was hard-working, dedicated and loyal to all who knew him. When it was time to relax, you could find him playing at the Softball America ball field and goofing off. Sean loved the league and enjoyed contributing to keep it running, whether he was playing or score keeping. He loved meeting up with friends new and old, creating new memories and often toasted to life with a Baja Blast in hand. If he wasn’t there playing softball, he was out with loved ones having a good meal. Depending on where you went, chances were high he was eating hot wings. And if you were at a fair or the beach, he was always down for a powdered sugar funnel cake. He enjoyed being from Philadelphia and was a proud fan of the Eagles and Phillies. He also loved hanging with friends by playing a round of golf or his favorite, at Top Golf. Sean enjoyed the simple things in life, just being with those he loved and cared for to ensure that they never felt alone. He was anybody and everybody’s friend. There was not a single mean bone in his body. He was genuine, kind, funny and unforgettable.
Sean was proceeded in death by his maternal grandmother, paternal grandfather(s) and a bonus grandma who he loved dearly as his own. He will be heavily missed by his spouse and high school sweetheart, Lucy Troutman, mother, Pamela (Robert) Brill, father, Paul O’Connor (Marisa), sister, Danielle (Tyler) Coia, grandfather, Barry Noll, and grandmother, Elizabeth Drinnan. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, friends and clients who deeply loved Sean and are saddened by his tragic loss.
Calling hours for Sean will be on Thursday, July 16th from 5:30pm-7pm at Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home in Ambler, PA, with a private viewing and funeral service preceding. A celebration of life is currently being planned for Saturday, July 18th with more information to follow for anyone who would like to attend. If you plan on attending the celebration of life, think of your favorite jersey and throw that on. Who knows? There may be a ball game involved.
There is not a shadow of a doubt that Sean made a huge impact on this world. He was our special gift, and our one-of-a-kind guy! Sean, we will miss you more than you could have ever imagined, sweet angel. Watch over us. This is not goodbye but see you later. We love you, Sean. Until we meet again!
