Game #1 – Carroll’s vs. Wehrung’s

Carroll’s fire off three runs in the top of the first inning, on RBI singles from Bill Shipe and Mike Stacey as well as a sac fly from Brian Sauer, just missing it from putting it over the fence. Wehrung’s will respond and get four runs of their own to take a lead. Luke Hendricks and Douglas Moninghoff have RBI singles and Paul Muth knocks in two runs on a double. Wehrung’s will keep up the good work in the second, getting six more runs. Luke Hendricks delivers the big shot with a grand slam in the inning. Carroll’s will get three of those runs back in the third, thanks to three solo shots off the bat of Greg Lesher, Bill Shipe and Brian Sauer. Kyle Gallagher will smash a grand slam in the fifth for Carrolls, but they still trail by three runs. Both teams turn up the defensive pressure and don’t allow any runs, which leaves us with a final of 13-10 in favor of Wehrung’s.

Player of the Game:
Luke Hendricks (Wehrung’s) – 2/3, BB, HR, 6 RBI’s

Game #2 – Dirty Balls vs. GFP

Buckle up because this one is going to be a high scoring affair. Dirty Balls will bat around in the first inning and score six runs lead by two three run bombs, off the bat of Tim Frei and Jason Dickerson. GFP will answer back in a big way as they will bat around and push across a whooping 15 runs. PK, the mysterious one, starts the scoring with a three run bomb, but that is quickly followed up by a two run double from Phil Lipton, two run single from Dan Vescovi. PK would come up again and smash another homer, this time a two run bomb and Eric Schade gets in the action with a two run bomb. Tim Frei will go hit another homer in the second, but Alex Freeman will match that in the bottom of the inning with his own homer, as the long ball continues to be a force in this one. Freeman will go deep again in the third, this time a two run shot, while Dan Vescovi knocks in two runs on a double as GFP continues to rout the opponent in this one. Dirty Balls won’t give up in this one and does add some runs late, but this game is all GFP. GFP wins 23-17.

Both teams come out firing as Muckdogs get a run on a fielder’s choice from Bill Stone and Runs get two on a Bobby Ridenour two run homer. Muckdogs immediately come out and take the lead back on a Stonie two run triple. After Muckdogs add one more in the top of the third, Runs get three runs in the bottom of the inning to tie the game up. Kyle Exner knocks in two on a triple. We will see our next big lead change occur in the fifth, when Muckdogs grab five runs on a two run double from Chelsea Detweiler, RBI single from Tony Cabot and sac flies from Bill Hamill and Dave Maschke. Back comes runs getting four runs in the sixth on a big grand slam from Jason Exner as they only trail by one. Muckdogs will get a couple insurance runs in the seventh and play lockdown defense to hold off Runs in this one. Muckdogs win 14-11.
