Game #1 – Quality Landscaping vs. Wehrung’s

Wehrung’s come out with a four run first inning thanks to a grand slam from Luke Hendricks. A Doug Moninghoff solo bomb makes it 5-0 as Quality struggles to put any runs across. Homers will continue to be the trend in this one for Wehrung’s as they get another one, this time from Luke Hendrick’s. Quality gets on the homer trend in the fifth getting their first runs of the game. Phil McCukser smashes a solo shot, while Mark K knocks in two runs on a bomb. A third homer, this time a two-run shot from McCusker gets them to within one run, but that is where the game would end. Wehrung’s hold on and win this one 6-5.

Game #2 – Altek vs. Knuckleheads


Altek get rolling with a run off a Adam Volpe fielder’s choice to get this game started. Knuckleheads will respond in a big way in the bottom half of the inning, pushing across a total of 12 runs. Matt Bookheimer had the first shot with an RBI single, followed by a three run bomb from Jon Poore. Then John Schofield, Ron Ducko and MIke Cebzanov have RBI singles before Rich Zupkuksy clears the bases with a grand slam. Both teams will go quiet for a couple of innings before Knuckleheads come back for another three runs. Zupkuksy went deep again, while John Kiefer and Schofield had RBI singles. Knuckleheads would tack on three more runs in the sixth to take this game easy. Poore and Kiefer have RBI singles in the inning as they roll. Knuckleheads win 18-3.
